What I Believe
- Everyone can be a master Manifester
- Changing your life is as easy as changing your thoughts
- It takes actual commitment to change your life
- If you really want to change your reality you have to be willing to work for it
How I Got Here
In 1990 I hit a low point in my life. I was making amazing money but I was broke. I had absolutely no self-esteem and I was living in a basement suite like a troll.
One day I asked the universe for help. I clearly remember breaking down in tears on my way home and asking God (My name for the universal energy) to help me. All I was asking for was for my life to be level. Not too high not too low.
The next day I was in a book store killing time and I came across this little book with a funny mauve cover called “Creative Visualization” by someone named Shakti Gawain. I didn’t know anything about any spiritual practices really so I picked up the book.
I started out visualizing a lot, I mean I visualized all day every day. I would go sit in my car at lunch and visualize, all evening I would visualize, in lineups I would visualize. Everywhere, all the time!
My life changed. I kicked the jerk I was dating to the curb, got control of my diet and started actually feeling a bit better about myself.
Then I got another job. Wasn’t thrilled with the job but loved that one of the bosses gave me a book called “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louse Hay.
Now I started affirming. I used drive time to affirm. I sang my affirmations I danced to them, I did them in the gym, at work, at home. I did them literally thousands of times every day.
My life changed. I moved and went back to having a place where people would just drop by and visit. I had lots of friends and acquaintances and all the things I had been affirming.
I kept it up and a couple of years later I bought my own place. The day I signed I swore I would have it paid in 10 years. Yes it worked. I also swore I would retire at 50. I was downsized after 30 years so yes I retired at 50.
How Do You Make things happen?
I know a lot of amazing spiritual people that believe in the Law of Attraction. They are all BROKE. They get excited about the new book or workshop. They pay the money thinking this will be the one that gives them the secret. They go home and try it a few times and when there is no amazing change they abandon it and move on.
The writers and teachers are all living in abundance, so why are the students having less than success.
There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is that if you are doing something for any reason other than that you are being compelled to do it. Being pulled by a force stronger than you are, you are not going to succeed very well. At best you will have mediocre results.
The second reason is as simple as lack of commitment.
What Do You Mean Compelled
None of the teachers that I have ever studied have thought “gee that person is very successful doing that or teaching that so I think I will do it too and be successful”. Louise Hay admits in her video that she just did what was put in front of her. Read Greg Braden’s books, if you follow his story he just did what he was drawn to do.
You are an individual so your journey will not look like the others so stop comparing yourself. You may find yourself following a similar path to one of your teachers but you need to follow your own inner compass. Listen to your own intuition and it will lead you to a success that you hadn’t really known existed. You will know you are being compelled because you cannot do anything but follow that inner guidance.
Will this success make you rich? Maybe. Mostly it will allow you to be happy, fulfilled and lacking nothing.
Everyone’s idea of success is different. Simply follow your intuition where it leads and stop worrying about the end result. Life is for learning and if you are on your path that learning will take you far beyond your wildest imaginings.
What Do You Mean I’m Not Committed
For the past couple of years I have to number myself among those who lack commitment. It is not laziness. It is just that in the modern world there is such a lot of instant gratification that it is easy to lose sight of what it takes to achieve anything.
Beginners in the field of manifestation have amazing results. People that have been doing it a while don’t always get results. Why?
Beginners aren’t focused on the end result. They are doing the work without expectation of results. Kind of a “let’s just see if this works” approach. They have no emotional tie so they succeed.
Many of us start trying to do the work when we are in need. So what we are actually sending out is the need rather than the actual thing we want. Affirming our wealth when we are terrified and broke.
To create any change takes work. Getting a degree or a new job, maintaining a family, becoming a musician, they all take time and effort. Why does no one put in the same degree of effort to create their own reality? Is it because they have misunderstood?
It is easy to change your reality, but it is also work. So it is easy work. You may have to do affirmations thousands of times a day and maybe for extended periods of time. You may have to include visualizations and master the ability to change your emotions. The books and videos and workshops have taught you the process. All you have to do is put in the time without an expectation of a certain timeframe. Try it. Work at it every day until you see your life change. You will be amazed.
To take a line from my favorite song “if happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why oh why can’t I”.
